Backstory[]

Everything started with the first AU made through Undertale, while what were initially just one AU soon turned to infinity as several new universes began to pop up, basing themselves off Undertale,the first universe.What was most peculiar about them was that they mainly seemed to focus on the entity known as Sans,some universes even basing themselves completely around the character.Soon however new entities started to emerge in the multiverse,these were the outcodes, beings who were not restricted to universes and could freely travel between them.The most famous or infamous outcodes were Ink!Sans,a protector of AUs and their stories,and Error!Sans who served as the opposite of Ink,a destroyer who hated every universe but the original.The multiverses soon reacted to these elements as well,particulary Error!Sans as it created countless AUs who mimicked Error.However this soon led to the arrival of an entity though calling it a living being would be preposterous.The entity like the outcodes in every way except he always remained a concept, never brought to life.What was curious about the entity was how it was supposed to be like an "anti-virus or anti-Error" though the entities true goal was never realised until he forced himself to Reality

The Avast[]

The Entity as he appeared started looking around endless fictional continuums branched from Undertale. Endless voices can be heard talking about rumors of a entity who devours viruses, entity was called Avast. Avast traveled to a fictional continuum which included a character named Virus!Sans as he sensed the existence of the entity, he immediately started searching it, causing havoc across multiverses, complex structures, then he found the entity, Virus!Sans looked at Avast with fear then started escaping even with the infinite distance between multiverses Virus!Sans was able to run away from , however it didnt last long, the logic and laws stopped working, reality got distorted, all directions of space is now only going to Avast, Virus!Sans with all of his speed tried to run but he ended up in front of Avast "01001000 01100101 01101100 01101100 01101111 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 01110010 01100101 00101100 00100000 01110110 01101001 01110010 01110101 01110011" said Avast with a hungry face, Virus!Sans tried to hit Avast with a bone but Avast moved infinitely faster than him snapped his neck then devoured him alongside with the complex multiverse they are in, as he devoured the virus, he sensed another one, this was different, not a sans but a big monstrosity that is 12-Dimensional in nature, as he traveled there, entity was corrupting and eating Complex Multiverses which are on same dimensionality as him, Avast wanted to get rid of this failure, with this in mind he rushed he bringed his destruction to every multiverse he traversed, all of them are destroyed "01011001 01101111 01110101 00101110 00101110 00101110 00100000 01100101 01101110 01110100 01101001 01110100 01111001 00101110 00101110 00101110 00100000 01110011 01101000 01101111 01110101 01101100 01100100 00100000 01100010 01100101 00100000 01100101 01110010 01100001 01110011 01100101 01100100 00101101 01100100 00101101 01100100 00101101 01100100 00101101 01100100" said Avast looking at to entity "SSB3YXMgd2F0Y2hpbmcgeW91IGZyb20geW91ciB2ZXJ5IG1vbWVudCBvZiBleGlzdGVuY2UsIHlvdSBhbnRpLXZpcnVzIHRoaXMgZW5kIG9mIHlvdXIgc3Rvcnk=" said the Virus Entity then both engaged in combat, Virus Entity tried to affect the mind of Avast which didnt work then all of 12D terrain warped into will of Avast creating a barrier and locking the entity up, entity break through it then slammed Avast into ground, "01001110 01101111 01110100 00100000 01100010 01100001 01100100 00100000 01100110 01101111 01110010 00100000 01100001 00100000 01110110 01101001 01110010 01110101 01110011 00100000 01101000 01100101 01101000" said Avast then altered all the logic, reality, principles and space-time into his own will completely annihilating the entity, "01001010 01110101 01110011 01110100 00100000 01101100 01101001 01101011 01100101 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01110010 01100101 01110011 01110100 00101100 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01100110 01100101 01101100 01101100" said Avast then left. He wasn't able to sense any viruses, slowly getting bored to madness, Avast searched everywhere to find a virus but no avail he lost his purpose, he start to became insane, causing destruction across Adamasphere, rifts in the reality itself, this was not actually his madness but his own personality, he is a destructive entity that liked fear and despair of creatures. Avast was in the Adamasphere waiting new to viruses pop to existence, he will soon taste their suffering, pain, agony, fear and despair.

Chapter 2: Anti-Virus vs Anti-Virus[]

Avast waited, for millenias, no virus entity came, no, he didn't sensed any virus entities, there IS virus entities, he was so sure. He traveled to different Adamaspheres as he went to different fictional continuums, he slowly start to go mad as he wasn't able to find viruses. Avast start to think that everything that is a mistake, a glitch, an error is a virus, this slowly made him kill every error and glitch he saw. Anti-Virus!Sans was searching for the Virus!Sans as Anti-Virus felt that Virus planning something, he was not aware of the death of Virus then a portal that straigtly goes through space-time opened, Avast came from it as he stepped to the ground everything starting distorting, Anti-Virus immediately trying to erase the code of Avast, which was futile due to Avast surpsingly not having any code, Avast then pinned Anti-Virus to the wall """̵H̴o̸w̶ ̵p̶a̸t̶h̵e̵t̴i̵c̴,̸ ̶y̶o̴u̴ ̴j̷u̸s̷t̴ ̷l̴o̴o̴k̶ ̶l̶i̶k̵e̵ ̶t̴h̴e̸ ̵f̸i̷r̶s̵t̸ ̸v̵i̵r̶u̶s̵ ̵I̶ ̶k̵i̸l̴l̴e̵d̷,̵ ̸t̷i̴m̸e̴ ̵t̴o̵ ̶f̵i̸n̶i̷s̸h̸ ̷t̸h̴e̴ ̶j̵o̵b̵" Avast said, then devoured Anti-Viruses essence into himself, when Avast though he was finished he heard a blaster then it him which didnt affected him, his head turned 180 degrees then his body too "̨̡͎͎̟̹͓̙̯̝͈̞̭͔͇͉̣̲̠̟͓͑́͒̒̕A̶n̸o̴t̷h̵e̶r̴ ̷o̸n̷e̸?̴ ̵h̶e̷h̵e̸h̵h̴e̶h̴," said Avast "Stop there Virus, your terror ends now" said anti-virus404, being called a virus engraged Avast "A̷ ̷V̸I̸R̴U̸S̸?̸ ̶H̴O̷W̷ ̴D̶A̷R̴E̶ ̴Y̶O̵U̴,̶ ̴I̷ ̴W̷I̶L̴L̵ ̵T̴O̷R̶T̷U̵R̸E̵ ̶T̴I̸L̸L̸ ̶T̸O̵ ̷E̶N̷D̸ ̶O̶F̶ ̸T̶I̸M̶E̵ ̷I̸ ̸W̴I̴L̷L̸ ̸P̴E̶R̸S̴O̴N̴A̶L̷L̶Y̵ ̴T̸E̷A̷R̶ ̸Y̷O̷U̸R̸ ̴E̸X̶I̷S̴T̸E̴N̴C̴E̵ ̸W̸I̴T̸H̸ ̵M̷Y̴ ̸H̷A̷N̵D̶S̷,̸ ̷N̵O̵T̴H̵I̶N̴G̸ ̸C̶A̵N̸ ̶S̴A̴V̴E̶ ̷Y̶O̴U̸ ̷N̴O̵W̷ said Avast then grabbed Anti-Virus404 from his throat, this entity has the same color palette as Avast, with strings that comes from his eyes to mouth, he was just a sans recolor with no facial or any other difference, then Avast with his anger grabbed the literal existence of the Anti-Virus404 with his hand then ripped it from his body, then cut it to beyond-infinite pieces, then give him most undurable pain possible then ended his pointless existence, with his anger.

Chapter 3: The Hunt[]

After the destruction of the wannabe anti-virus, Avast remained passive, but he expanded himself through past, present and future so he will be able to find any viruses across all of space-time, which he did, he sensed great amounts of virus entities existence, specifically in the past. Avast, went for these viruses he found a universe with only one timeline which is discontinued, can't go any further, interested in this Avast entered the universe, everything was corrupted distorted, then Avast saw another sans, "Why do even these freaks gets strong everytime and not the others" Avast thought to himself then Xans noticed Avast, then attacked him to corrupt him too, Avast then grabbed Xans's head and throw him to a building, Xans then fired triangular objects that erases objects from reality, these were so fast that he wasn't able to react but they didnt affected him "S̶o̵ ̵t̴h̵i̴s̴ ̶i̴s̷ ̴a̸l̴l̶ ̷y̸o̶u̴r̶ ̸p̷o̶i̶n̸t̸?̸ ̸j̷u̶s̴t̵ ̴a̸ ̸s̵k̴e̴l̵e̴t̷o̵n̸ ̶t̶h̷a̷t̷ ̷s̶h̸o̵o̸t̴s̴ ̴t̵r̶i̵a̵n̷g̵l̶e̷s̶?̴"̴" said Avast, grabbed Xans from his jacket then devoured the entity, this resulted universe to collapsed due to Xans being not part of duality of existence and non-existence, as he left it, he felt a disturbance in the space-time, an anti-virus who is stealing his job, Avast started to boil and every thing around him starting to distort, with this anger he traversed space-time and destroyed multiple planes of existence then he arrived, a dust, Dust!Anti-Virus was killing another virus but then everything stopped, time and space completely stopped, then Avast summoned a spike that straightly went through Dust!Anti-Virus, after this he sent entity his realm where logic and reality is distorted and started to torture entity there, he slowly make the entity lose every bit of sanity or hope it had, then slowly dissolve him into his quarks then collapsed him into a singularity. After the rage state of Avast ended, he started to again realise that he can't sense viruses, but he again believed that he was just wasn't able to sense them but they still exist, with this mind he again start to consider errors and glitches as viruses, Avast fought with errors and glitches across dimensions but then errors or any type of glitch disappeared, this caused him to consider everything as a virus and made him destroy many complex and normal multiverses then a bright light blinded him, infinite amounts of new viruses and entities, Avast then started hunting inside Adamasphere until no virus is going to exist

Chapter 4: Danger[]

Avast continued massacare viruses all across Adamasphere, but every time he killed one, he slowly realised that how many he murder, erase or devour, it won't end. Avast traveled to a higher-dimensional multiverse a 14-Dimensional one, the universes inside were 8-Dimensional, as he entered he took all the universes and start to alter them, increasing the dimensions of the infinite universes to 12-Dimensions. Every universe in the multiverse and their inside spaces became 12D, these universes started to create new entities that are also 12-Dimensional, these entities resembled bacteriophages in shape, the entities that were created by universes were Anti-Viruses to clear the adamasphere from viruses. These anti-viruses has been released to Adamasphere and started clear the Viruses however, Avast sensed an entity, a virus far powerful then the others, he started to traverse space-time to reach to entities location but space-time started distort when he reached there, all matter, space-time and such was distorted Avast returned back everything to their original state then he saw the entity, another 12-Dimensional Virus named CodeRed, It was a concept itself to reality and to counter Avast. Both entities looked at each other, CodeRed took form of a gaster rather than a sans, CodeRed was a tall figure with full black body with red outlines, CodeRed's pupil were red as the name suggests, with their foots having 4 arm-like parts, there is 4 tentacles that extends from his back that has crystal like structure. Both Avast and CodeRed stared at each other "A̸n̶ ̶a̸n̴t̸i̴-̴v̵i̴r̷u̵s̷?̴ ̵Y̷o̴u̷ ̸a̶r̸e̶ ̸n̴o̵t̴ ̶t̷h̸e̴ ̴o̴n̷l̸y̶ ̵A̷n̷t̶i̸-̵V̸i̷r̸u̶s̵ ̵c̶a̸m̶e̶ ̷h̶e̶r̷e̷,̵ ̶y̶o̴u̸r̷ ̵f̸a̵t̸e̴ ̵w̴i̶l̵l̴ ̶b̷e̶ ̵s̶a̷m̵e̴ ̵a̶s̵ ̶t̵h̸e̴m̷" said CodeRed then dashed at Avast who backed away wanting to keep his distance with the entity and to learn their abilities, Avast created 3 clones of himself, exactly being same in power and everything else, CodeRed started rapidly fire beams of energy which clones reflected, then clones with their high speed tried to attack CodeRed however, his tentacles went straight through them causing them to die, seeing this Avast summoned his army of anti-viruses, these anti-viruses straight went to CodeRed which CodeRed defeated them immediately "Y̶o̴u̷r̷ ̸i̷n̶a̵b̷i̶l̴i̴t̴y̵ ̷f̵i̴g̷h̴t̵ ̸b̴y̴ ̶y̶o̵u̴r̶s̴e̵l̷f̷,̷ ̶i̶n̶d̴i̶c̶a̷t̷e̶s̸ ̶t̴h̶a̷t̶ ̷y̷o̷u̷ ̶w̵i̴l̵l̵ ̷j̴u̷s̷t̷ ̵l̶i̵k̶e̷ ̵t̸h̷e̴ ̴o̴t̴h̴e̷r̸s̵ " said CodeRed, Avast anger levels where increasing, it increased to a point where now he doesnt cared about dying anymore, he went straight for the CodeRed while distorting everything around himself, CodeRed dodged all of his attacks then stabbed Avast straight through his chest almost killing him, all geometry, space-time and logic start to distort, then Avast with his full power broke the tentacle of the CodeRed and stabbed him with and punched him still being almost "dead" then while CodeRed trying to heal, he started to devour CodeRed entirely, after he devoured CodeRed he turned to his original state, then 4 tentacles exactly like CodeRed's extended from his back but instead the outlines were green, then he left

Chapter 5[]

Avast for a long time stayed passive and didn't destroyed anything, for eons, all of his works done by his minions. The Errors were not deleted by the minions as they are not viruses, however he stayed passive, as CodeRed like entities would appear and last time he almost died, he was visiting other Universes looking around like cities and planets mostly trapping people into his personal realm torture and torment them and in the end kill them. Avast as usual approached a human, human when he saw Avast started feel fear out of nowhere, he froze in his place then a black-green puddle like portal appeared under him and sent him to his realm of torment, space and time was distorted in the realm and so is logic, it didnt make sense, Avast showed to human some visions which break the human psychologicaly, then one thing remained, break them physically then Avast, started give human much as pain as possible while keeping them awake and slowly he disolved their every quark, then devoured their soul not sending them to hell but somewhere far far worse, as he devoured the soul he left his realm of torment. Avast walked in the streets of the Universe being completely invisible to eye, however suddenly whole sky turned into red, then Error came "Another pointless one" said Error "I wonder why these kept popping into existence" said Error then Avast make himself visible, he wanted REVENGE, Error saw Avast and terrified due to what happened last time but he remembered how he defeated him then summoned infinite sharp bones and fired at Avast, Avast didnt even parried or blocked them the ones that hit him broke immediately then Avast teleported behind Error "T̶h̵e̴ ̵t̶h̶i̷n̵g̶s̷ ̴t̸h̷a̴t̴ ̶w̵o̶r̵k̵e̵d̶ ̷o̸n̶c̸e̷,̶ ̴w̵i̶l̷l̶ ̷n̶o̴t̸ ̵w̷o̸r̶k̷ ̴t̸h̸i̵s̶ ̸t̷i̶m̸e̶" said Avast and summoned spike and stabbed Error with it then destroyed the Universe, Error stood up and got the spike out of his chest but Avast again appeared and snapped the neck of Error, it healed quicky however Avast created a black-green puddle under Error, sending him to personal realm of his, as Error ran and ran, the longer corridors got, then a hand from wall reached out to Error and pulled him inside the wall, it was a completely new reality, he was in a corridor, it seemed it had no end at all, there was countless doors in each sides of the corridor, everything was grey and white. Error slowly started to walk and look checked the doors with every door he entered, more and more aspect of the realm got warped, in the end he was left in void, or he thought so space itself started laugh alongside with the time Error having enough of these punched the *air* and cracked the space-time causing it to open to a different space-time as he got out of the realm he heard a voice behind "Y̴̳̿Ô̸̭Ŭ̵̳ ̵̭̈́A̸̲͗R̵̘̊Ẻ̴̪ ̴̥̀N̷̙̕Ò̴̧T̷̮̾ ̸̨̓E̷͕̕S̸̠͐C̸̰̀A̸͍̓P̶̪̚Î̵̺N̷̙͝G̶̱͗ ̵͔̂T̵͖̄H̷̤̐A̸͔̍T̴̎͜ ̵̙̌E̶̯̊Ā̷̺S̶̤̈́Y̷͇̏" said Avast then formed 2 swords made out of the Multiverse itself, then with his anger Avast slashed causing the multiverse they are into destroyed, Error dodged him and fired blasters which Avast reflected back to him, then Error used ancient magic he learned and created a forcefield around Avast, temporarily nullifying his abilities then Error escaped and the forcefield got broken "N̵̢͍̰͓͍̤̣̼͚̤̗̪̅͋̌̾̉̐͌̃̓͊̅͋O̶̡̙̜̯̤͉̬̩̣̪͂̏̅̀̍̈́͜_̶̨̢͉͉̯̞̦̳̞̜̏̂̿̃̓̈́̑̏͘͘ͅE̵̢̲͔͑̐̆S̵̡̡̢̯̱͓̥̟̀͂͑͛̓̈́͒̈́̾́͘͘C̷̡̰͓͉̦̰̽̆͑͝Ä̶̖̺̳̭͓͚̠́͗̈̿̀͂̈́͋̒̀P̶̛͎̉̏͗͌̊̀͘͘E̴̡̘̰̰̫̙̲̣͚͕̊̑̓" said Avast in a glitchy tone and started ripping multiverses looking for Error.

Chapter 6[]

He left the Torment Realm, and started looking for victims, he looked for hours didnt found any and out of boredom used his telekinesis to merge several universes then he pulled it to himself then he grabbed the universe looked inside "P̵̣̱̳͌͝o̷͚̠̠͐̌i̸̛̞̅̋n̸̟͇̍͌̋t̷̯̣̹͒l̶̺͎͎̃é̶̜͂̒s̴̝̦̎̈́̀ś̶̳͔̼̈́" said Avast and crushed in his hands, he sensed something different outside of the multiverse with great speeds he reached to the border of the multiverse then ripped the border and reached to outside, he saw a portal and entered the portal. An exact copy of his multiverse and the others, made out of Anti-Matter, Avast was not interested in this though he saw Error of the multiverse, before even Error could notice Avast punched him, however physical contact did nothing no explosion or anything, Error was sent flying when he stood up he summoned multiple blasters firing anti-matter but all of them got dissolved into atoms "I can manipulate his body and attacks, my Error had some magical shield around him" thought to himself Avast, then dissolved Error into quarks using his ability on a higher scale, and did the same thing as Gaster, forced negative dimensionality to Anti!Error(Anti-Matter) then corrupted the whole multiverse then multiverse collapsed onto itself, creating a 12 dimensional black hole "D̵̬̱͓̍͊i̸̺̘͊̄d̵̝̬́n̵̹̟͉͑͐̽'̵̰̀͗ẗ̶͇͎̲́͂ ̴̛̯̑̒è̴̲͕̳̿̋x̴̒ͅp̴̦̕ẹ̷̈́c̷͈͙̰̃̈̕t̸̝̝͒e̷͍͍̊ͅd̵̼͈̟̄͛̂ ̵̧̲̜̀̕t̴̥̰̟̑h̸͔͕̎i̸̮͛s̸̳̰̀̒̕" said Avast then destroyed the black hole with gravitional force, then he tear the space-time and went back to his own Multiverse

Chapter 7[]

As Avast left the Anti-Matter Realm and he sensed 2 entities across the Adamasphere, with these being not a virus or anti-virus this peaked his interest as he arrived to the place a humanoid entity with 1 red eye and teeths with full black skin was standing and explaining the other entity who is a Sans, something "People inside the Adamasphere calls it Multiverse or Complex Multiverse, however they are not aware of other structures as the multiverse travelers call just think normal multiverses as multi-layered realities, and sees Complex Multiverses as multiverses you would guess that they also see Adamasphere as a complex multiverse, which is right, a place which is aleph-1 in dimensionality. I-" but the entity got interrupted by the Sans "So Adamasphere and Complex Multiverse?" asked Sans, entity warped the reality and silenced Sans "You are only here because I cant find anything better, you understand that? You're a lesser entity you have no right to interupt me" said the entity with a threatining tone "Another Sans?" said the entity noticing Avast but when he got noticed Avast immediately cut arm of the entity and punched him Sans immediately escaped with his teleportation "I knew he would betray me, now time to end you" said entity as he started to alter mind of Avast and his emotions "I̷ ̷d̸o̴n̸t̷ ̶t̴h̷i̸n̷k̸ ̸t̸h̵a̵t̶ ̸w̶i̴l̷l̷ ̷w̵o̶r̴k̸" said Avast and got behind the Entity "A̷n̷d̶ ̶f̶o̴r̷ ̶y̵o̸u̷r̸ ̷i̸n̸f̷o̷r̸m̴a̸t̵i̵o̴n̵ ̶I̴'̶m̵ N̴̡̡̛̼͈͉͈̯̳̼͙͓̝̎̈̑Ơ̸̢͍̺͓̟̰̪̼̫͉̗͒͆̇̈̐͑́̏͝ͅ s̸͖̒å̴͕n̵͍̓s̶̠̈" said Avast then the vessel of avast dropped the ground and a being impossible to described normally appeared from higher planes of existences, Entity stood there "I will eventually consume everything" said the Entity "You can't stop the prophecy" said the Entity however he got erased from duality of existence and non-existence by Avast then Avast left the structure and his "size" became normal again exceeding The Otherverse, a place with 2 parts both having layers that are transcendent to each other. Vessel of Avast from Adamasphere woke up "Ȉ̵̠ ̷̠͝n̸͓͂ê̶̖ẹ̶̍d̴̛̝ ̵̲͋ť̷̯o̵̖̽ ̴̝̀f̴̞̏í̴͔n̴̞̿d̴̳̽ ̴̈́E̶̢̥̼͂̏Ř̶̛̳͚̈́̂͝R̸͇̰͈͎͍̪̣̋̔͂̋̇͗̕͝Ȍ̷̺͇̼̺̍̀͐̉͝Ŗ̸̺͕̖͈̭̱̖̾̆̒͊̇͑̿͘" said Avast and started looking through the Voids and Anti-Voids ripping them apart as he finds nothing, he finally found Error however he was fighting with another entity full black with red eyes and a halo, as the entity was beating Error, Error fired sharp bones filled with positivity magic which banished the entity then green spikes surrounded Error "Its him... again" thought Error to himself then saw Avast then Error created the same forcefield with his magic but this time it didnt work, then Error used his magic to create red eyes floating in the Anti-Void which fired pure Chaos, slowly destroying the Anti-Void Error escaped and Avast stayed there without being affected "Y̴o̶u̵ ̶a̴r̴e̸ ̴n̵o̴t̸ ̷g̵o̴i̵n̸g̸ ̸a̶n̶y̴w̴h̸e̵r̶e̷" said Avast then created a barrier around the Multiverse Cluster sealing it away. Error started to cast a magic which distorted space-time increasing both time needed to traverse and space between them but Avast without teleporting completely ignored the distance and the time needed to traverse the distance and grabbed Error from his "throat" then slammed him to a non-physical wall which cracked skull of Error then destroyed the Wall Error casted a magic sword made out of DARKNESS then he stabbed Avast, Avast before falling to the ground nullified abilities of Error and sent him to his Torment Realm. Avast woke up after several weeks, sword was still in his chest then he got the sword out and split in two then started resting as the DARKNESS weakened him.

Personality[]

Phage likes suffering, pain, agony, fear and despair of others he seems to be a hero due to killing viruses however he is far from one. He is destructive and messes with lower-dimensional entities tortures them, other than that he destroys habitats many beings, these habitats I talk about is multiverses, while destroying it if he is not doing something else and accidently done it, he traps all the entities inside a pocket realm that has distorted space-time and logic and tortures them there

Appearance[]

Phage is a tall skeleton with black clothes and bones, he takes the *shape* of Sans due to his conceptual nature, he has a long black coat, t-shirt and pants. His foots are identical to a monster foot with green claws, his fingers are sharp with green fingertips. His eye-sockets are identical to "0" in shape but filled with green color with no pupils at all, his mouth is not able to seen only his teeths which are also green in color. His t-shirt has a circle in the middle with 2 lines extending it from 2 sides of it, up and down this circle and lines are green in color.

Avast is capable of physically interacting with voids and such and even rip them apart

Existence Devourer[]

Avast is capable of devouring objects and entities, he mostly devours viruses and uses other methods destroy objects,

Mind-Protection[]

His mind is being protected from abilities such as mind manipulation, he created this ability himself after a virus tried to use this on him

Distortion[]

His very presence distorts the reality and space-time slowly, this causes space-time anomalies and illogical events in the place he is in. He is capable of controlling these distortions and alter logic, space-time and reality with his own will

Avast acts like he is usefull and does great however in his nature, he just acts like a broken anti-virus which deletes everything
