What can I say? There is freedom... and then there's me.
~ Celestio

Celestio, also known as "The Bijuu of fortune" is a primordial speciman among countless others created by Comedylad/Funnysterk. He serves as the main "antagonist" of True Godverse's "Grimoire of Celestio" and furthermore as a reoccurring minor deutertagonist or antagonist thereafter. Being one of the first few entities alongside his Kin and the people he refers to as "the highests", which co-existed during his time. These beings included Fortran, Koavire & Duester, whom he all claims to be either pawns or simply as gifted.

Celestio's characterization, appearance and name Is also shared with a character in an UNDERTALE AU Spinoff series known as "Undertale: The determined saga", which is made by the same person as this article. However, this page is reserved for the ORIGINAL version of the character (Author's note: formally known as Funnynoire before having his name changed COUNTLESS times) that has been rebooted and made relevant for the sake of article standards... In short: This is Godverse's rendition of Celestio, which is separate from his TDS counterpart, and is to be considered non-canon outside of True Godverse.

Backstory[]

For the full backstory from his own perspective, please see Re:Genesis, which is the very prologue of the stories themselves.

Celestio was a being created at the very Infancy of True Godverse's existence, back when the unwritten potential had been liberated of being nothing but void. During this time, True Godverse and its cosmology would only be known as "Chaos", where ideas simply came and went, starting & stopping... it'd be a matter of time before a handful of general beliefs would manifest, creating the ancient creatures known as "Bijuus" (尾獣, Tailed Beast, or simply "animal"), which together ruled over vital aspects of the grand narrative they called home.

Among these Bijuu sat the very essence of creativity, fantasy and disbelief; Celestio, a feline-esque entity who's mind was wracked with nothing but nonsense & curiosity, wanting to forever experiment and play with the endless possibilities of a "medium", whether it'd be poetry or art, he saw to expand his palette with whatever he could grasp... however, there were some minor setbacks that Celestio didn't take into consideration. Subsequent to Koavire finally establishing a more elaborate authority and Lotus becoming sick of the nonsense that the true Godverse had begun to spew, the colors that Celestio saw as beautiful were torn apart, and separated for what sounded like some kind of coup against a reality of pure fantasy, in favor of the suspension of disbelief in the form of "The great design". Of course, one of the other highest beings, a benevolent figure named Ada, had convinced the others to spare the Bijuus themselves, Celestio being one of them. Disgusted regardless of whether he was euthanized or not, Celestio begged for this to be undone, only to be plopped down to a corner to rethink his own ideologies... To cope with his own failure, Celestio sought to graft his marks of "authority" across the cosmos, seeking to have madness reign once more.

The G.O.C. (Grimoire of Celestio) Incident.[]

Grimoire of Celestio (The story) is an interconnected, legendary epic that grants major insight to the True Godverse, which tells the story of Celestio's uprising as an attempt to claw at the great design and eventually revert the True Godverse into pure nonsense and bliss as he had kept in mind.

Pre-incident[]

Some time during the events of True Godverse's history, Celestio ends up finally mustering the sheer will to disobey the highests, defying his loyalty in favor of his own beliefs and eventually setting up his own scheme to butcher and put an end to the great design. This entire incident began when he had met the son of the king himself, whom began to question his motives and furthermore investigate his own behavior. Learning that the prince was a figment of the king's normalcy, had been scheming to assist moderating the great design, and was treated as a biological child, Celestio figured he would use his downfall as a way of getting the king's attention and possibly get his way. To do this, Celestio schemed a pseudo-takeover of the True Godverse via propaganda, public teaches across the Aeter Engine's layers, and terrorizing the king's creations behind everyone's back. During this incident, he had come across Jack, who was apart of a warmongering propagandist party known as "The resistance". In an attempt to cover his first ever assault, Celestio would make a pact with its leader; a highest being known to the legion as "Infinity code", who would later reveal his identity as Fortran during the incident.

Celestio used the Resistance as a facade for his scheme to regress the great design and rebuild it into the "chaos" that True Godverse once was, spreading his arcane, chaotic agenda to the cosmic masses and devouring or terrorizing those who opposed him. However, during this mass brain-washing event, Prince Daedalus established his own society in the form of the storyboard inquisition; a group consisting of "resistance" victims and those who are loyal to the King that are aimed to fight back against Celestio's anarchy. To retaliate, Celestio quickly assembled a group of followers known as "The Magus Legion", finally establishing his first complete project as a group of True Godverse residents and foreigners whom are converted to his own worshipers, government advocates and admirals. However, during the first ever planned assault on the great library, the king himself caught onto the damage Celestio had done to the rest of the Godverse, and as such met up with his son to seal away the feline... While Celestio's very nature was beyond any typical sealing practices, the king instead fabricated a mind-trick to conceal him inside a magic mirror known as "Micro-chaos", which would pre-occupy him and keep the chaos contained until he's no longer satisfied.

The Incident[]

During a supposed "Peace-time" event across the entirety of True Godverse, Virus404 had found the mirror in which Celestio was supposedly "Sealed" in. A bored, daydreaming Celestio was found right in front of him, and so the two decided to have a chat. However, during this talk, Jack had convinced Celestio to "come out and play", using a game of tennis to entice him, and eventually breaking him out of Koavire's mind trick. During this Tennis game, Celestio had broke the mirror by serving a tennis ball, causing it to shatter. When this happened, Koavire immediately chased after Celestio, but everywhere the king went, the feline would disappear. While Koavire could easily purge him from the entirety of the True Godverse, the king knew that by terminating Celestio, Ada would get onto him... however, his son had thought otherwise. During a 5 hour span of Celestio's release, Daedalus had plotted with multiple members of the church of Quondam to exorcise the Bijuu back into another prison. On the other side of the coin, Celestio was plotting to continue filing his complains to the king until his demands were met, through a series of crimes against the king that would heavily impact the Godverse in a negative manner. From charming the mother of countless divine beasts into defying the king to manipulating countless plotists, Celestio would continue to ruin the Godverse until the king struck a nerve... but he didn't; Ada's influence was too forgiving, and the king was refusing to reply.

To ultimately get the king's attention, Celestio had come up with a scheme that he would not only find indulgence in, but also could get the king's attention by impacting the masses. A day after his release, Celestio used the "Ideel" family name to sneak his way into the grand library and "borrow" countless tomes. In doing so, Celestio's own perception warped the contents of the books into "Grimoires" as a reflection of his own nature and as a tool of both brainwashing in return for incomprehensible power in the form of bestowing magic or otherworldly abilities. Doing this, Celesto sought to gather countless servants as "Messiahs" to work miracles and curses, which would allow him to wage war against the Ideel bloodline, primarily Prince Daedalus. In contrast to Celestio's own ideologies, Daedalus served a cause to eradicate the all-consuming indignity of "nonsense", establishing order through a "justified" tyranny and promoting classism based on the life story & nature of every individual resident, which highly infuriated the Bijuu of fortune. This would spark a war between the son of the king and the agent of chaos that would affect politics, wars, the nature, and rules of the Godverse. The first ACT of the incident involved Celestio trying to consistently sabotage Daedalus' attempt to spread his own propaganda against the old ways of Godverse by all means necessary, including the use of psychological horror and sending members of the resistance to terminate his followers and overall prevent opposition, only to fail due to resorting to what he considered "basic methods", as he perceived Daedalus as nothing more than a brat gifted with high intellect, only to be met with failure due to thinking from a face-forward standpoint.

In an attempt to exterminate the Storyboard inquisition (which at the time had the Prince in charge), Celestio resorted to establishing a "Divine sabbath", where he'd seal himself within a mirror and hide, instead having his most worthy priests, the Omnissiahs, do most of his dirty work. During the event, Celestio would have his servants amass gatherings and religious ceramonies, recruiting one undesirable resident after another mischevious resident into the Magus legion and avoid being "Great designed" by Prince Daedalus. Many self-proclaimed dark Gods and blood Gods would join the ranks of Celestio's evergrowing regiment, disturbing the peace through public sacrifices and harassing foreigners for their SOULs. The main event was to establish an event where the Magus Legion would march towards the Aeter Capital and state their complaints to King Godverse, with Celestio amassing public hysteria and belittle the king's role as a God amongst the rest until he either gives in or does something that would cause a larger public outcry... to Celestio's own misfortune, Daedalus had established a battalion that would lead to the "Sanguine Massacre", where countless 'edge' Gods, whom were based around blood, pain, darkness, chaos or destruction, would be brutally dissected and percisely executed by the prince's own inquiry... Yet again, Celestio was foiled.

Profile[]

Celestio's very mind is Felliniesque in nature. At his "birth", Celestio always saw an opportunity to showcase his obsession with creative freedom and writing without restrictions. He's generally pseudo-childish and absurd, refusing to ever act the same for at least one entire day. Generally speaking, he despises repetition to the point where he calls it nauseating, even trying to imitate sickness when staring at one colorless pattern for even ONE minute.

While his thoughts are usually Fantastical or surreal, he never seems to get out of day-dreaming unless someone even dares to wake him up, and while he usually isn't short-tempered, being put in a bad mood consistently may make him quick to snap, causing him to go throw a destructive, Kaijuesque fit. If consistently put at ease, Celestio will always be day-dreaming or seen doing absurd, often impossible things such as protruding countless, previously nonexistent limbs to do multiple counterproductive tasks at once, such as drinking a glass of milk with one hand while he forms a spout on the side of his hip to dispense it, or turning a light on and off to where the switch splits in half, hence illuminating half the area... Celestio is scatter-brained, chaotic, and lacking in traditional charismatic values, preferring to just do whatever he wants... in spite of his mystical nature, the Bijuu of fortune seems to behave very much like a mortal or lesser God out of sheer apathy.

However, during the events of Grimoire of Celestio, some aspects of his character begin to change... After confronting the son of one of the highests and being willingly "sealed away", Celestio finds a sense of humor in the loathing of those who hate creative freedom, becoming more of a prankster in more ways than one would expect. He later on develops a scheme to find an excuse to leave and continue tormenting the Godverse's prince and his followers, as well as poking at the king himself for gags & giggles, even going as far as to using Fortran as a kind of scapegoat. Speaking of Fortran, the malevolent figure had taken notice of Celestio's dissent into his own personal madness, and had thus opted-in on teaching him the ropes of having an appealing personality and gain more followers. As such, Celestio's behavior has gotten a tad more consistent ever since the deal was struck... during his war against the prince and his followers, Celestio began to exempt anything normal, turning rainbows into "What-in-the-purgascape-is-this-bows", which take on a shape and color scheme that makes the drawings of a 4 year old human child look like a masterpiece, or only eating triangular Watermelons that are "scented of the number 7 and tucked under a blanket of rolled up time". This level of blind absurdity would get worse as the Grimoire Incident continued, as he would begin to misinterpret his status as the sentient fabric of freedom itself, instead viewing Anarchy and Freedom as one of the same and hoping to overthrow the Ideels, even if Koavire could easily shatter him with an afterthought... however, Fortran was able to get Celestio interested into using his chaotic nature to inspire and amuse people, using his mad ramblings and nonsensical acts to aimlessly acquire laughter, even if it was making him more of a laughingstock more than anything else.

Virus404[]

While Jack didn't catch Celestio's eye when he was first created, it was when Jack snuck into the castle and began speaking to Fortran about their plans when the two met. As time went by, Virus404 garnered more of Celestio's attention, to where it became an obsessive friendship. Virus404 had introduced Celestio to the idea of enjoying food, and so the two have always scheduled "Taco Tuesdays" every month. Later on, Jack's tradition would become spread across the entire magus legion, with Celestio often bringing a taco to his friend every month or two.

Gyjuu, mother of divine beasts[]

{TBA}

As a Bijuu, Celestio chooses to manifest in the form of a swarthy, feline entity that is surrounded by a dark blue aura, though this info is as consistent as it gets. Celestio is not bound to a single form, having ascended beyond needing a physical figure. Instead, Celestio will manifest "himself" as a jet-black creature made of sludge, taking the shape of a limbless cat, often inching towards his destination, sprouting limbs and a more catlike structure, sprouting countless tendrils or simply deforming to take on a water-like form. Celestio may also take the form of a cyan or blue light, which lures in residents to be reused in whatever way he pleases. Celestio's sludge is akin to boiling tar, though the matter it's comprised of cannot be defined due to its nature of constantly changing, but can be used to envelop and consume mice or take any shape he pleases. While Celestio is beyond biological definitions, he's referred to as a male.

Celestio's size and shape may change depending on his own whims or simply out of boredom, and he may develop patterns on his body to keep himself preoccupied, so he may change from a small, striped feline to a pseudo-divine beast who's form takes up cosmic structures. As such, black cats made of slime or take on rather odd shades of blue are considered to be a red flag in the True Godverse by members of the king's court, as it could possibly be a manifestation of Celestio himself, and as such must be kept far from anyone else.

Right-mind Incarnate[]

Due to Celestio's entire existence being the collective presence of freedom & Creativity, the physiology, capabilities & potency he carries is undefined. What Celestio can & cannot do isn't defined by any form of law or statements, but only limited by the existence of imagination & belief, which in itself is boundless due to imagination being the production or simulation of novel objects, sensations, and ideas in the mind without any immediate input of the senses.

Definitions & rules do not apply to creative freedom, as Artistic freedom can be defined as "the freedom to imagine, create and distribute diverse cultural expressions - artistic freedom describes the extent of independence artists obtain to create art freely". As such, Celestio's freedom goes untouched by any form of censorship be it logic, physics or even interference.

Criticism of its existence is only to be considered as just words, as freedom that is touched by boundaries cannot be considered true freedom. That being said, as Celestio has developed a system to think within logic to avoid being targeted by critical minds, so this freedom may be expressed in a limited manner, though if their creativity in itself is being oppressed, then this can be considered thrown out the window. Probability & definitions are considered tangible illusions by something that is unbound by thought. Attacks are just actions, defending is just a verb, and power is only a definition... to a mind that is truly free and treats all ideas as paint and the idea of an "existence" as a canvas, these can be written, displayed or outright taken out of that picture. In short, Celestio is only bound by their own thoughts and what they perceive, to the point of considering terms such as "cosmology", "Godhood" & "Heirarchy", which are otherwise beyond touching as definitions that can be misconstrued... Celestio is freedom, Celestio is bliss, and Celestio is simply Fantasy without rules, given an interpreted shape, thought & name.

In laneman's terms, Celestio is by definition a Metapotent figure, which is the misinterpretation of Omnipotence based on "do absolutely anything and everything" rather than its true definition as being supreme in every sense whilst transcending even the very idea of supremacy. Through this, Celestio is capable of doing paradoxical thing and exhibit behaviors that are utmost impossible, including minor things such as turning Gods into the color blue itself, and not just a blue object, or being able to do things, joke or not, that are considered impossible. In fact, this level of Metapotent behavior has gotten to the point to where he's able to contradict the rules of Godverse by any means necessary, changing other Gods on a whim to exhibit impossible feats and forms.

Neo Chaos[]

Neo Chaos is without rules, without logic, and without reason. When chaos is situated in the body of chaos, it creates a less predictable chaos. Within the belly of the beast, NEO-Chaos is stirring, forever brimming with colors & patterns that would be impossible to see. To witness Neo Chaos would be to witness an equilibrium without balance, a night where the sun shines bright. Whatever the chaos consumes, Neo-chaos will absorb, adding onto itself and adapting...

Within Celestio's body is a pocket-cosmology which abides to his own rules, which can be accessed by request, though he may also consume some residents to satiate his boredom, they'll be absorbed into the aforementioned realm of NEO-chaos. The only way for Celestio's body to ever contain Neo-chaos and prevent it from absorbing the Aeter engine and beyond is to trap it within himself, and as such become amorphous and undefined in his own physiology. As a result, His physical manifestations are often considered to be like being close to an inactive black hole that can go off if it wanted to, as taking in anything into his own body will be trapped inside this "pocket-world", with the only escape route being for Celestio to manually open a hole in his own structure and pull them out... Neo-chaos doubles as both an Abyss to trap unwanted guests & as a travelling method, as the dimension itself has countless "singularities" that seem to lead to entirely different areas within True Godverse, whether it'd be a recognizable multiverse or simply a white void.

Celestio has gone out of his way to develop both basic & utmost absurd fighting techniques, using both his imagination and Cat-like physiology as the basis to fight back against those who simply go against his ideologies. That being said, Celestio prefers not to fight, but rather toy with people by simply raising an appendage and simply "write" people out of existence or rewrite their entire being to where they are irrelevant. However, if put up against a higher being, he has a few "methods" of damaging people who only respond to force.

Deception fang[]

One of Celestio's most well known techniques, he has always made it a MUST that he bites someone with Deception fang. Opening a previously non-existent mouth to chomp on someone, Celestio uses this to injure or confuse targets, as his incisors will inject a strange elixir that brainwashes the target. However, the range of this technique isn't limited to his own face, as he'll usually magically construct a massive pair of magic fangs to do the deed in case there are multiple people or someone tries to escape his grasp... the outer fangs are highly lethal, capable of piercing the bodies of Gods regardless of stats and will not inject the same elixir as with his own teeth.

Deception Warper[]

One of Celestio's most iconic techniques that is never mentioned by its true name, "Deception warper", better known as "I win", "Nope", or sometimes "I'm not forgiving you for throwing a cucumber at my face", the deception warper technique is a matter of perceiving reality as an illusion, creating a dome or sphere of reality defying madness and raw imagination. Those who are exposed will be transfigured or playfully mutilated, as those outside of Celestio will be altered in so many ways, they will become unrecognizable or be reduced to mere objects or apparitions.

Deception Sphere[]

A more face-forward, face-value version of his technique, the deception sphere is a singular flashy pulse of pure NEO-chaos influence that will induce a seizure-like event within those that are targetted, rapidly altering a target's existence entirely or completely obliterating them, depending on Celestio's on whims. During the 2nd Chronicle of ACT I, when he was still sealed away, Celestio completely wipes out the celestial sea by targeting a surface of a terrestrial planet, only to cause a chaotic explosion that altered everything below the beyond, which triggered the Aeter eye to do a minor reboot of the Aeterframe... Celestio had a rage fit when this failed to catch the king's attention.

Deception Scythe[]

A weaponized form of the Deception warper technique, Celestio owns a scythe, a Scythe... and yet another Scythe. The "deception scythe" is a cosmic weapon that can be manifested in more ways in one, be it as a weapon or a barrage of sickles that act as weaker deception spheres. In is two-handed "weapon forme", it is capable of splitting entire cosmologies in half or splitting Gods into two personas, divide dichotomies and put them together, crumble the the building blocks of meaning or reason, and even knock out characters from narratives or from True Godverse completely, reducing them to mere ideas. The effects of this Scythe vary, ranging from creating void-like cracks that lead to NEO-chaos or star-like sparks that mesmerize those who stare into them. He may wave the deception scythe lightly to mesmerize beings who are unbound by shape or form, hypnotize those who have an iron will or even induce a mass brain-washing event.

Ethereal mirror Shriek[]

Out of hatred, rage, fear, sorrow, excitement or frustration, which are otherwise perceived as non-existent, Celestio will release a tiny amount of NEO-chaos's influence through a high pitched screech, capable of shattering or restoring the senses of Godlike beings and mortals alike. This scream, while it may give an input of 194DB on first glance, has its noise deriving from nothing but chaotic energy, creating a distorted meow or hiss capable of inducing a "kill-switch" effect on mortal beings or DemiGods & Gods who dwell within the luminare or low zone, and shatter the senses of those above.

Mirror Swipe[]

When Celestio wants to dig his claws in, he will. Mirror swipe is a simple technique that revolves around his amorphous form, as he begins to form paws that have their claws unfurled. A single swipe forward or sideways will be enough to tear the fabric of space-time, though as the name applies, the reality-defying tear is usually behind him. In addition, wherever he actually tore the fabric of reality, it will often fabricate a mirror, which is meant to shatter and cut open those with glass forged from chaos.

Mirror Swipe Barrage[]

As a variation of this technique, Celestio is capable manipulating the chaos-forged Glass once it has been manifested from the tear of reality... these shards are then used to form raging fists of fury, which may act as their own entities, but just act as a way of quite literally throwing hands. after one swipe, this may be accompanied with a second swipe to double the efficiency, though the Glass fists hurling at beyond light-speed are what mainly dish out the physical or conceptual damage he needs... due to the paradoxical nature of countless small object being merged with a concept as unbridled as chaos, this allows Celestio to essentially flip the entirety of illogicality itself on top of its head and use it as a physical weapon that he doesn't even need to manually use.

Trivia[]

  • It is believed by the highests that it was Fortran himself who grant Celestio his name... mainly due to how silly it sounded.
    • Celestio's name is meant to be a made up term or "Spoonerism" using the word "Celestial", which by definition means "positioned in or relating to the sky, or outer space as observed in astronomy", "belonging or relating to heaven", or "supremely good."
    • Surprisingly. Celestio's name is one that was actually used in Italy. The name comes from the Latin word “cælum > cælestis,” meaning “heavenly, coming from the sky, the blue color of the sky.” The name spread in a Christian context, used concerning the Virgin Mary “Queen Mother in Heaven.” Queen of Heaven (Latin: Regina Caeli) is one of many Queen titles used by the Virgin Mary. The title derived in part from the ancient Catholic teaching that Mary, at the end of her earthly life, was bodily and spiritually assumed into heaven, and that she is there honored as Queen. Saint Celeste Metz was the 2nd Bishop of Metz and is revered as a saint by the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Churches, and the Anglican Communion. Pope Celestine V was the head of the Catholic Church for a few months from 5 July to 13 December 1294 when resigned.
    • Technically speaking, with Celestio's name being Italian and Daedalus's name being Greek, their constant infighting, both during and after the Grimoire incident, may be considered a callback to the Greco-Italian War, when the Italians were trying to make a puppet state out of Greece.
  • While Celestio's favorite food changes with every week, month or even minute, he has repeatedly expressed Sushi-stuffed steak as one of his all-time favorites... why this has become a reoccurring favorite is unknown, but it may have to do with Celestio's feline form.
  • amongst one of his many favorite past-time activities, knocking over Prince Daedalus' Coffee mug and letting it spill is one of his favorites... generally speaking, putting Daedalus through hell is his favorite activity, even after the war.
  • Celestio's existence in itself is the definition of a fun lord; he just either wants to screw around or do something that stimulates him... Koavire managed to help his son seal away the cat because he knew the one thing holding Celestio back is his inability to take anything seriously... especially any "life or death" situations.
  • When not tampering with definitions or trying to start yet another Godverse-trivializing incident out of sheer obligation, Celestio seems to be a huge eater, likely due to his time spent with Virus404. Koavire recalled putting down an entire city sized crate of grapes to deliver to the general public, but in a matter of minutes, all of them were gone.
  • (Author's note) Celestio is actually one of multiple cat-based characters created by Comedylad, with "KamiNoira" being the first ever rendition of the character, only to be rewritten as a "Demon" character for a post-no mercy AU known as "UNDERTALE: POST MORTEM". A dreamtale take by Comedylad was also planned to have a cat-like nightmare who shares similar physical traits to Celestio & KamiNoira.
