Sometimes people just don't know when to quit
~ Cozmo

This is the tale of a monarchy, the story of how one of the first royals after the King & Queen came to be, a biography of his life before it all went downhill... this is the legend of Daedalus "Te Atua" Ideel, whom believed in a perfect world where there is Order & humanity.

Hail to the prince, for it is he that has been born.

[Featuring: King Godverse himself & his servant, Cozmo.)

Part one - Birth of the divine right[]

  • Times have passed... they've passed on from one generation to another, as the King would eternally hold his throne for as long as he existed. This king was around nearly at the start of the beginning, when the Chaos was brewing endless whispers which sew the seeds together. However, as times have changed, the identity of the Chaos would as well, being no more than an endless void where nothing else remained... not even space. WIthin this reality, known as "The Godverse", the King was a mostly humble emperor who had meant well for the people, even after choosing one of the vilest women to be his Queen... however, It was clear that there was something wrong with the picture. If one could not tell, the King was a being who sought to retain a sort of tradition or normalcy to stave off the strain of being a God with near endless power... There was always the king, his humble servants & a Queen, he had his royal advisors & even a close friend under the name Cozmo, who formed an Aeterframe to contain their endless cosmology, which will be forever tweaked until it has achieved perfection. For the time being however... there were a few missing assets in King Godverse's castle.
  • King Godverse was a God who wished to maintain a form of normalcy in his kingdom where everyone was of a higher power. The untamed cosmic landscapes ranging from every universe to the fabrics of one prime Shamasphere, and yet all being governed in one castle at the center of it all, where the Aeter Engine was put under control. At the beginning, the castle of King Godverse, also known later on as "Koavire" was no more than a strange, stone-like structure, but began to ascend to a more divine status later on... The now golden & Quartz halls, the stained glass revealing a void outside of where the king lived, cosmic eyes gazing down at every guest who could be seen... some glass depicted many of the finest members of the King's people, ranging from the Knights he constructed from transcendent alloys and sheer thought, to his begrudgingly ever-present Wife, who he began to regret keeping as time passed on, yet still keeps to complete the set... yet, something was missing.
  • Koavire had been surrounded by his peers & his enemies for years, if not decades or even centuries... if not longer, as time was irrelevant for someone such as the King. There was no loneliness, but it was rather that he was missing something... a tiny hole in his heart. That being said, Koavire was quick to understand this issue, as he had all the knowledge he needed to understand, and if that were to hold false, then he wasn't himself. King Godverse simply went to a room to remain in private... and thought to himself: "I will forever hold the throne, for death or absence will forever remain below me... that being said, the people may be wondering why I am going to do, and my answer remains true: Every king has a successor, and although no one may inherit my throne, an extra pair of eyes, an additional voice, a second mind to speak to wouldn't be all for naught, and it will bring forth the existence of a True 'Ideel' family".
  • ... And so the prince was born. Koavire simply pondered for a moment... and then thought even deeper... he began to hum to himself, slowly imaging someone he can call a "son", and eventually, the boy came to be. As Koavire wanted to make his son to grow up as royalty, he had swaddled him in shining, chromatic robes and crowned him... laid on a crib, the young goat simply slept, his innocence made clear as he opened his eyes, but closed them when he saw his father, the first sight he saw in such a dark, stone chamber... within the castle's cellar, Koavire stared down at his son... before uttering a name of his choice: "Oh, Daedalus... my gratitude for your presence cannot be expressed by no mortal, but to introduce you... I am your father, I am your king... Thy shall rule the Kingdom under my wing."
  • But something was wrong, not particularly with the prince or the king... but from behind the king stood the queen; Ayaba approached & seeing the young boy filled her with dread & utter disgust, Koavire could faintly hear "Oh, is that our son or were you cheating on me when nobody was looking?", which drastically caught his attention. He could only gaze in dread as his wife got past him and caught a glimpse of the child.
  • "And what sort of goddamn abomination is this!?", The Queen would question, taking a look at the boy before snatching him out of the crib, possibly retching in disgust as she held him by the top of his furry head. "I clearly don't recall being pregnant, and I really sure as hell hope you didn't give birth yourself or just pull this one off someone else... tormenting you just wouldn't be as fun". However, Young Daedalus simply babbled in confusion... that's all he could do. So out of utter spite of her husband, she looked around for a trash can, only to find nothing... she held the baby upside-down and released him from her clutches... while Koavire would save him, the utter hatred he felt was immense, and he'd let it slide knowing that there would be consequences. When the child fell to the floor, he opened his eyes, he felt it... it was painful, he cried, his eyes becoming fountains of white Ichor, the blood of transcendent Gods, as he thrashed in pain... it was an utmost disturbing sight, and yet Ayaba felt accomplished, looking at her bastard child... Ayaba walked off, but not before looking back at her husband and giving him one last line; "I will be back to let him play with some jumper cables, I hope you and this RAT somehow get syphilis!"
  • Never had Koavire ever felt so offended, yet he couldn't bare to say anything about it... this was an everyday struggle, and as Ada watched him he couldn't do a thing about it, just hope Fortran doesn't do a thing to the little boy... out of pity, he grabbed the child and stroked him, feeling every inch of fur uncovered, as he swaddled him back in radiant garments. To make sure his son isn't attacked any further, Koavire made a request; "Oh Cozmo, I need you more than ever. I have created a son in my own image to complete my bloodline, and yet my wife threatens him with pain & suffering... I cannot fear, but there is a general concern in regards to the boy's safety and his mental state... I'd like for you to take him to the grand library and be his babysitter, we have a book to educate him... though, what he is capable of is currently unknown. I'll let you figure that out yourself."
  • Somewhere in Atlantis... the bar where everyone had their fun;
  • Cozmo was a intergalactic skeleton who was busy having the time of his life (As he always did), the bar was bustling with new residents, and people were glad to see him when he came around. Recently, Cozmo helped some members of the staff create something called "Stone sauce", a sort of ketchup containing lots of iron, magnesium & calcium... this was a recent hit success, and he was just about to try his own creation, when someone broke into the place. One of Koavire's guardsmen walked in and approached Cozmo, shaking his clean hand as the galactic skeleton was pouring some of his new hit condiment on a hotdog & fries. "Alright bro, what's the king got all of a sudden? Did he take a leak & somehow break the urinal or something or am I just jestin'?" - The guard simply chuckled and responded; "Oh-hoho no, actually, the king had a son...". The response caught Cozmo by surprise... clearly, there was no way that Koavire, the King of the Godverse and one of the mightiest of Gods in the pantheon would wish to take full commitment with his wife. The cosmic skeleton, shook by this, promptly asked for a to-go box and a Rocky-road milkshake, before reaching the castle where the King was... deep in the cellar, Koavire swaddled his boy, ready to reveal him to Cozmo.
  • "If you are ready to help an old acquaintance, I'd like for you to take him to the great library, as it has everything he needs. My son, Daedalus, may learn quickly from what he sees... holding him, there is a spark of godly power in him, being born from my own thoughts... sadly, he has no mother, let alone a worthy mother, so I'll need you to be his babysitter for awhile. His divine being will mean he does not need anything... just a little education & recovery... To my own dismay, he has acquired brain damage." - Cozmo listened to Koavire's explanation, still a bit curious about how this was going to work, before finally responding; "you got a good offer man, gotta say that little uh... 'Day-dull-us' here is in good hands, or at least I think he is."
  • While Cozmo doubted himself for a bit, he knew he'd have to take the offer, and so off he went, staring back at koavire and leaving the cellar while being passed the goat, before moving out of the castle... holding young Daedalus, he looked around for a car seat, before putting one in the back. Strapping young Daedalus in, he'd make one last remark: "Alright baby boy, I'm gonna be your teacher, nanny and best friend, so better get used to seeing my face." - and with that, a journey into the great library began, taking a road that was easy to follow, the car's wheels becoming thrusters at some point as they began to fly across countless dimensions, breaking the sound barrier by tenfold, eventually traveling over to what looked to be a massive structure, even the doors themselves dwarfing the vehicle as they opened. Cozmo himself drove in, but stopped at what looked to be an inside parking lot... Cozmo only had one thing to say to Daedalus as they left the car: "Who's ready to get school'd?"

Part 2 - Bibles & Blasphemy[]

Everything regarding this point in the legend is separated into stages of the prince's growth... as young Daedalus got older, his perspective would become ever more clear.

Infancy [0][]

  • As young Daedalus was laid in the library, inside his cradle & dreaming, Cozmo always checked on the boy to see if he needed anything, only to see the child in perfect condition, which wasn't surprising if this was the real son of King Godverse... however, Daedalus was a rather interesting case; when he turned 5 months old. Cozmo began to hear more coherent babbling from the child, and his eyes began to stay open, as he was finally awake. Little Daedalus was a handful in this state, and not due to requirements, but rather due to some rather peculiar oddities with the child. Somewhere down the week after he turned 5 months, he was learning to stand up, but for some odd reason learned to... teleport. A curious Daedalus would begin teleporting across the library, sometimes far from his crib and near the massive shelves of books, and would go to throw them around. Cozmo had tried countless times to get the child to stop, even trying to entertain him with some silly dance moves he did nearby, which taught the boy the idea of laughter. a month beforehand, Baby Daedalus already grew all his teeth fairly quick in a span of 2 weeks when the month began, and was always whining about it, as it caused him pain... seems that this child was something else. During the 5th month, Cozmo actually began to get himself more involved with Daedalus, teaching him how to walk on two legs, from how to stand up to little steps. Eventually, the child learned, and began understanding the odd person more.
  • Evolution: the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth, and the gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form... and Daedalus sure was starting to evolve.
  • At 8 months, Daedalus was already beginning to talk, learning words such as "dad" and "mom", implying that he wondered where they were... However, Cozmo wasn't ready to tell the truth, as young Daedalus was still an infant himself, and it was best that he didn't know about the issues with his father. However, something Cozmo remembered felt odd; He remembered that Koavire stated that Daedalus suffered from brain damage, however there were no signs of this being an issue... but maybe if he sticked around, he'd find out. Every day was just about the same; keep little Daedalus away from any unattended books, make sure he stays asleep or entertained, and make sure he's not in harm's reach. Now every once & awhile, Cozmo did run into some issues, as he began to notice visages of some sort of Queen walk by, sometimes inspecting the boy or even shaking him, causing him to cry out for help, only for Cozmo to come back to a child in tears... and then there was Duester, that odd jester Koavire kept around. Every one or two months, Duester came by and went to huddle around baby Daedalus, even picking him up and rocking him around, only for Daedalus to roll out of his clutch and fall back into the cradle, as if fate was put in the child's hands... no matter how far Duester was, somehow the child was back at the cradle, which was kind of funny, so he'd just steal the kid and run around to agitate Cozmo, often coo'ing and making childish remarks such as "Aww, baby wanna bottle?", only to see Daedalus somehow roll out of his arms and relocate to the cradle. Generally, all these mixups with the odd matriarch visage & the chaos Duester would stir up a bit of trouble, but in the end one year would pass... to make things special, Cozmo threw him a Birthday with his majesty and some of the guards, but it turned out the child wasn't so fascinated with balloons or cake like any other infant... Rather, one of the presents so happened to be something Koavire requested; The Library's book of God, copied & rewritten for a young mind, yet still just as long and educational. Seeing this gift, Cozmo was rather shocked, but things were just getting started. Koavire parted away on that day again, but not before visiting his son, with something to say; "Oh, my child... how glad I am to see you. You've shown no signs of harm, and I'm glad that Cozmo was there to keep you safe." - Daedalus, now finally reaching his first year as a toddler, began to look at the man in front of him... to everyone's surprise, Daedalus spoke thoroughly; "H-he's nice. Cozmo's nice, dad! I love it here!"
  • And so his father, after hours of bonding with his newfound son, returned to his kingdom for utmost important matters.

Childhood [1-12][]

  • Throughout Daedalus's childhood, things were different. Now as he had turned one, Cozmo was told to begin teaching the young prince some basic knowledge. Basic numbers & shapes, color & feelings, they seemed to all be put under the book. When Daedalus was only a year old, he spent a good chunk of his time reading the book, sometimes calling out to Cozmo and asking questions, and would sometimes leave his crib to do other activities, like scampering across the halls... he was once again beginning to show more signs of the godly nature his father held, as after 2 or 3 months, he already began reading into subtraction & addition, rather basic numerical 'problems', but rather surprising for a child of his age to grasp. Yet... there was still some odd occurrences. Every week or so, that odd crowned lady still went to scare him, often waking him up at night before verbally assaulting him, and sometimes he'd even try fighting back, only to receive slap marks that would be apparent the next morning. When it was December, Cozmo could hear the boy silently reciting carols & trying to sing... he didn't seem talented, but it was better than when Jack sang, in all honesty.
  • 2 years would go by and things would be relatively the same, as the prince began studying more & more, eventually beginning to grasp ideas such as division & multiplication, geometry and even science... Cozmo had already noticed little Daedalus was getting older, and a bit taller as well, so it was only natural that he'd contact the king during the 4th of July. During this time, Koavire was coming to the library to grab a book he kept for this specific time, wishing to read it to his people, only to notice Cozmo bathing Daedalus for the first time... surprisingly, the boy managed to stay fresh for quite awhile, and the only reason he seemed to be getting a bath was because it just felt natural, with Cozmo worrying about his health. Daedalus was beginning to outgrow his clothing, so Koavire fashioned a new outfit for the boy... and a new bed. Whenever Daedalus got a chance, he'd question his father "Why is it that I can't see you often? Is there something wrong with the castle walls?" - Koavire handed Daedalus a family picture he took... he didn't seem so glad, as he was next to some pale lady wearing a deep violet and black, a crown on her head and clearly an awful smirk on her face. Confused, Daedalus once again spoke; "Is... that my mom? How was I in a bed when I could've come from her tummy", only for his father, only impressed with Daedalus's findings in knowledge, to respond with "No... that is my wife... you see, I made you out of loneliness... a king can't go without a prince, after all."
  • After a long talk between the two, Daedalus began to understand his family a bit more; It was just him & his father, and some woman he couldn't call his mother, said woman despising him for some odd reason, with the only person he could trust being some silly ol' skeleton the king had for a friend... when it was all said & done, Koavire returned to his castle, and so the cycle of learning continued... Daedalus sat on a new bed of his, keeping the hanging toys that played a lullaby over it, as it helped him sleep and keep track of Ayaba, who he just called "the woman". Every week or two, he began learning a new thing or two, and like all children, he began to take an interest in something... that something being Science.
  • Science: the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation, and the testing of theories against the evidence obtained... this ranged from scientific elements to biology, as well as the study of psychology & even something as revolutionary as technology. Daedalus was becoming evermore indulgent on this subject. When he turned 5, he requested Cozmo for him to set up a small science kit in an empty area in the library, so he'd get to work on actively understanding what the world was working with... During his 5th year of existence, he began already getting into more complex mathematics, asking Cozmo to bring him papers full of unanswered math questions, only to solve it about 5 minutes later.... and that was when he was doing additional projects. Another year passed on as Cozmo took him outside for the first time, it was a whole week at some kind of residential zone below the library... for that very week, Cozmo introduced Daedalus to some things he's never tried before, as on Tuesday they went on a 3 hour long train ride, and on Wednesday they tried golf... and yet, almost on that same day, Daedalus could be heard picking up pieces of metal and somehow bending it with ease. On the day they went golfing, dozens of discarded forks & spoons were cleansed & bent properly to make a golf club, which was as shiny as it was effective. On Friday, Daedalus & Cozmo went to Antlantis, where Cozmo decided to get Daedalus his first ever meal: a hotdog with all the basic condiments (Ketchup, Mustard & relish), however... this day was also the first time Daedalus would interact with people. Eons have gone by ever since True Godverse's rebirth, and so the boy got a chance to meet people that were either new or very ancient. Somewhere in the bar, an incident occurred where some other skeleton was drinking Motor oil... it was weird how identical he looked to Cozmo, yet acted so much more chaotic... there seemed to be a list of people that were banned from the bar and looked the same in some way or another, which really felt weird to him... if not uncomfortable. Some residents began to notice the young boy and his odd golf club, and one person even walked up to him. The person, ever so sly & smug, approached him & asked "Say kid... nice club ya' got there."
  • And that's when things went wrong... the man took his club, which surprised and shook up the kid, who shouted and held his hand out to get it back... While Cozmo was busy at the gambling machine, he heard the commotion and even some faint whimpers, signaling him to come back, only to see Daedalus fighting with some other skeleton. To do his friend a favor, he got behind the individual and choke-slammed them, before issuing one warning while holding a bone at their throat; "Bro, I better not even hear, see, or find out that kid is even scratched, ya' hear me!?" - The skeleton chugged the oil he had in his hand and threw it at Cozmo, responding with "Heh... make me, dumbass"... this was where things got dirty; As soon as those words were heard, the sound of footsteps were heard close by... the little goat prince stood and took the club from the thief, but before he did anything else, he looked to Cozmo and said something that was... rather unsettling, looking down at the bonehead Cozmo had pinned down... it looked like he was going to beat them to death; "Is this man bothering you?" - The other skeleton tried removing himself from the situation, not particularly terrified but seemingly cursing under his breath, trying to escape death... Daedalus stared at the fleeing bonehead, and signaled Cozmo to let him go, and while Cozmo didn't think it was worth it, he'd trust the boy for once... just to watch as the poor resident got their skull smashed in. It was a terrifying sight; blood was spilling, people were moving from their seats & gasping at the scene, as Cozmo was holding the boy... it was one hell of a moment, but nothing a bit of conceptual authority could fix, the concept of slowly resurfaced into & poured back the victim. Before the ER & any of Koavire's guardsmen showed up to the scene, Cozmo grabbed young Daedalus and evacuated out of the bar; "I think we're gonna have to have a talk about violence, kid."
  • Never again would Cozmo see Atlantis the same way... at least for awhile.
  • After that week, Cozmo had given the boy a more watchful eye... apparently Daedalus had tried making friends, but nobody seemed interested in him, and with every day passed by, Daedalus began to show signs of anger issues... again, multiple years passed on and Cozmo began to understand a few things:
    1. At Age 6, it was made clear that Daedalus didn't seem to like uncouth guests, to the point of behaving in a more vindictive manner... One time Cozmo brought over somebody to go check out a book, only for them to not even show any manners or sense of humanity in them, instead throwing books around & yelling at Cozmo to find what they wanted. Apparently Daedalus still had that golf club at the time, and threatened to bludgeon them... this happened twice, and so Cozmo had to take away the hanging lullaby toy for a week. 3 months later, a similar guest was smoking a cigar in the library in spite of the rules banning such a thing, and so when they got close to Daedalus, he took their cigar and gave it to the librarian, before pointing his pointer finger upward... this could've been the first time Daedalus had ever used profanity, as he was trying to "Show them a cute birdy".
    2. Daedalus is surprisingly creative... and strong. On Christmas day, he was reading on something, but asked Cozmo to get him some metal. Hours later, he made a makeshift Christmas tree out of precisely bent metal, titanium sheets covering the steel frame. during the 3rd week, he teleported outside the library, and Cozmo had to go chasing him... however, when they got back, what he did was shocking: He held 7 lifeless planets in his left palm, condensed into tiny models as he showed them off... he asked Cozmo to create a model solar system with it, and so it was done.
    3. While the prince is supposed to be royalty, his preference choice of clothing seems to be more modern yet spiffy. When he was 8, he had already learned Algebra, elemental compounds & everything he needed to know about a narrative. However, he used this to his advantage by asking Cozmo to make an outfit that made him look smart & royal... He ended up wearing some clean, well-fitting clothes with glasses, but got a night gown so his clothes can be cleaned and so he could be comfortable at night.
    4. He actually has some form of memory loss. At the age of 9, Daedalus began to show signs of losing random memories, having to be given reminders of the past. While the memories are usually irrelevant, this has confirmed that his brain damage actually had an affect on him. Every few days, he'd fast forward pages just to remember something he'd randomly forgot, such as one time where he forgot Ayaba existed, only to be reminded on that very night, as she came back with a pair of jumper cables to electrocute him... Cozmo had to defend him that night, having to sacrifice himself and get electrocuted as a result... due to his higher state of being however, this proved ineffective.
  • Years would continue, Daedalus would begin studying more, and when he turned 10, he had already finished learning mortal concepts... however, between 8 & 10, Daedalus was staring at a rather peculiar series of scriptures in the book of God... As time continued, Cozmo could faintly hear the prince uttering words to himself such as "Prometheus", "Loki", "Asterion" and occasionally "Eurynome". As he turned 11, Daedalus eventually began repeating his own name on the pages, as when Cozmo began checking on his state of being, it turned out that his name... had a meaning.
  • In Greek mythology, Daedalus (UK: /ˈdiːdələs/, US: /ˈdɛdələs/; Greek: Δαίδαλος; Latin: Daedalus; Etruscan: Taitale) was a skillful architect and craftsman, seen as a symbol of wisdom, knowledge and power. He is the father of Icarus, the uncle of Perdix, and possibly also the father of Iapyx. Now the boy understood everything; He held the name of a craftsman, a man who built functioning wings from wax & feathers, who sealed the Minotaur in a labyrinth, and was even mentioned in the book of God's when Cozmo asked for him to recite texts from The Divine comedy, an old book where two poets traveled through what sounded like multiple layers of hell... "To be a Daedalus", the boy would repeat, every hour or so... it was as if he was obsessed with his own name... and then he turned 12. Weeks beforehand, Cozmo began to notice Prince Daedalus behaving in a less dormant fashion... as weeks came that year, Daedalus was learning to read quickly, improving his speed in which he processed and memorized information, and on the third to last week, he began taking a look at some of the books in the library, particularly ones with rather odd properties... on the floor was a book which Daedalus spung on his pinkie, before eventually setting it down, however when Cozmo caught a glimpse, he noticed that the book had over 500... no, 150,000- or no... endless. The pages on the floor sized book were endless, and Daedalus only got started, taking table and using his own hands to conjoin them & morph them in shape, using his saliva as glue as he licked the broken wood... on top of the book stood a wooden station, the large room in the library Daedalus stayed at spanned over a mile covered by one massive book, and Daedalus just turned countless tables into a single workstation. While Cozmo found it rather concerning at a first glance, he began to wonder what he was doing... another week would pass and Daedalus could be heard doing more peculiar things, such as... fighting books with his bare hands; He used one tome in the library, one that was apparently supposed to make objects come to life, to bring multiple others into fruition, as various magic tomes began to levitate, and taking pent up aggression against the boy. While the librarians did ask for him to stop, Cozmo butted in and suggested he'd get some replacements of whatever Daedalus broke... Whatever this boy was doing, it was important. Daedalus put up a fight with a magic tome meant to teach pyromancy, which began casting magical flames from its pages, only for Daedalus to slap the fire back at it... afterwards, he grabbed another magical tome & chanted something... the copy of the pyromaniac records came to life and was duplicated, dozens sending all sorts of crazy forms of fire magic at the prince, only for any witnesses to see him deflect it... the tomes only began to fire off different spells at a faster rate, some sent off flaming tornadoes, and at one point an exploding kugelblitz was set off... when this occurred, Cozmo was concerned, and ran over to the "room" Daedalus made for himself... only to see the boy blackened by smoke, before staring down at the tomes.
  • On the day of his birthday, Koavire returned to see his son once more, this time with three presents... however, something seemed different about Daedalus's reaction, as instead of jumping up & down in joy, the two acquaintances watched as the prince would walk towards the gifts... the curiosity in his eyes as he approached it was less exciting and moreso intimidating, as if his maturity was kicking in... he asked politely if he could open the gifts, and after a bit of ear-flipping and conversing with Cozmo & his father and at some point getting carried away, the prince reached out to his gifts, as he saw just as he anticipated; Tools. Lots & lots of tools. He'd unload them from the box and begin taking them to his room one by one, trying to make some remarks such as "thank you" & "I'll be needing this tomorrow". Cozmo was getting bored, and was even drinking his over decade old milkshake as Daedalus continued unloading the presents, looking at Koavire and asking one particular question; "Say, pardon my language king... but did you plan for your kid to be so... innovative? Ya' know, no offense to smart people obviously, but every year I've stayed with him he's been learning a lot... and yet he's still a handful, Your boy's already made golf clubs & Christmas trees out of whatever he can find, and yet he's been destroying books & taking names in the library..." - King Godverse nodded with a yes, as he looked at his son in satisfaction.
  • "My son will be a genius, an artful inventor who will support redefining everything to a comprehensible level. As he may have demonstrated, he was born with imperfections, and comprehends things from a more straight forward perspective... but you see, we've ruled the Godverse for countless, unnamed aeons and have forever remained in charge. That being said, there has to be SOMEONE responsible for keeping everything in check, and so to complete my kingdom's ranks, I brought forth a prince who learns quickly & exists amortally, beyond the very idea of life & death. He will stop aging soon, and on his 21st year will be the one to make the change of his choice... hopefully it will be for the better. Daedalus seeing from a mortal's perspective is a side-affect of brain damage, however I have begun to notice its use, as he'll begin to focus on every little thing the Aeter engine holds while my servants & I can paint the general picture... who's to say there's a problem with a 2nd pair of eyes, Cozmo? He's creative & innovative, and I'm sure he'll put his talents to good use."

Adolescence [13-18][]

  • Time continued to fly by... Daedalus was starting to mature a bit more, and was starting to vocalize his findings more. A month after his 12th birthday, he could be heard reading, but left his own room often to read the other books... something was different with each one, as he discovered more about his very being. Near hollows eve, he went to ask Cozmo something; "Say... if the world around me is called the Godverse, how come do I not see everyone on a big mountain or massive frost people? I've been reading on some of the tomes of magic and while I'm certainly impressed with the results, but this does concern me. Have you not heard of the Foreigners? According to the Godverse records implemented in the Book of God, mortals from a lesser plane tend to lose themselves and end up here... quite unfortunate, is it not? They're such fickle creatures and they seem to understand the basics as much as I do... if not a bit less, but that's besides the point!"
  • "Woah, bro, your brain's running 100 miles per hour, one at a time, dude!" - Cozmo replied with a bit of confusion, but may as well go ahead & answer... "Now look, I know the True Godverse ain't what'cha expected from a world of Gods... if I can even call it a world, it's much larger... Heheh, Anyway, to understand the True Godverse, ya' gotta know that everything around us is subjected to chaos, and we both know what THAT word means... I mean, you've read the basics by now. Ya' see, the True Godverse ain't yo fancy shmancy' little rock with a bunch of divine people on it. I know that when you read the book you saw the definition of God, and believe no one here counts, but by resident standards a 'God' is basically your cosmic Joe... I'm sure ya' know what dimensions are, right?" - the space-y skeleton asked a question to get some insight from the boy, and Daedalus did indeed deliver; "Well, To break it down, dimensions are simply the different facets of what we perceive to be reality. We are immediately aware of the three dimensions that surround us on a daily basis – those that define the length, width, and depth of all objects in our universes (the x, y, and z axes, respectively), and so dimensions may have an affect on a cosmological body."
  • Cozmo responded, taking a shallow breath before beginning a rather short lecture; "Well, that's great... so uh, ya' see, the 'Gods" of the Godverse aren't really Gods... many of em' just hold a godlike status with how powerful they are. The King is what you'd call a God by traditional means... we'd be counting dust for every actual deity in the True Godverse, but the little guys we call residents are what make up the desert. Every resident has a different level of power based on the influence they have over our good ol' cosmology, and many of em' are usually capable of uh, say... plunging an entire galaxy into darkness, or making it rain gold across a multiverse... Now with that aside, what was it you wanted to say about those ol' foreigner folk?" - Daedalus then answered... the more Cozmo spoke about the Godverse, the more Daedalus began to understand... he then recited his question, followed by a new one; "You see, the foreigners within their own cosmic bubble seem to have become victims of torment... the other day, I read a tome that showed me the account of some sort of purge as if it were some sick joke! Cozmo, some of these titans you call 'residents' treat mortal aspects like a toy! How long can you go without seeing another cosmic body being merged with another after being kicked like some rubber ball?! what is the time between moments you see somebody with the utmost ridiculous clothing cremating a planet with just a touch!? It's heresy without reasoning, Cozmo, heresy! I would LIKE to know how they do it!"
  • When prince Daedalus went into the library, this was where he began his research on every concept that he could come across. Every word, definition, belief & aspect of reality & surrealism was handed to him like a dinner for his mind. As he began to bite from the fruit of knowledge, reading upon the very concept of intellect, transcendence & philosophy, carrying the weight of being a godlike being began to take a heavy toll on him. The idea that everyone he knew was just a speck compared to him was quite discomforting, for every mortal he knew was fragile & unable to handle his being... but that was when something else hit him; the hierarchy. In spite of his father's efforts, he had begun to take note of the excessive free will the Gods had in their fingertips... every innocent mortal was precious to him, his slowly dying ignorance against divine authority making him blind to the truth of inevitability, which struck a nerve in a maturing body... It didn't help that he begun to stumble across records of lesser Gods tormenting the mortals... and now it was beginning to grow on him. Every day or two, Daedalus could be heard grunting and growling in his own room, sometimes the clanking of metal & tightening of bolts & screws. Cozmo got a good look at what his father gave him during his road through adolescence, noticing all the different tools and even power tools his father granted him... sometimes, Daedalus would sit down and observe some of the objects handed to him, and could be heard muttering phrases such as "why did I have to be born like them" or "these tools... I don't deserve them..." - it was beginning to concern his old friend, as if previous childhood incidents had not already been enough. Daedalus's abuse and lack of socializing waved a red flag in the cosmic Joe, as he began to picture the amount of pain he'll throw back across every resident he came across... if Cozmo had hair, it'd be raised already, as the construction and sounds of angst & wrath continued to echo across the library... another year of suffering. Weeks would pass after Cozmo started to have more sleepless nights, worrying about Daedalus's mental health rather than trying to appear normal...
  • The week after Daedalus turned 13, Cozmo began to stalk the prince in the library, investigating his behavior and reading his patterns. The prince had let him do this for awhile, it seemed, as when his old friend was visible, he never said a thing... On Thursday night, Daedalus freely let his cosmic companion gander upon the full view of his creations; Within the library was some sort of compressed assembly line, a large workbench with countless steel arms protruding from it, like a spider with misplaced legs. on the table's front was a screen displaying a product, as Daedalus placed the golf club of his childhood on top... Cozmo watched in both worry & awe as the bent spoons & forks were all melded & melted together, the boy throwing pieces of scrap metal into the mix to add onto it. From one of the arms lit a flame like no other, as the heat of 12 suns from the cosmos below were trapped into a ball of what looked like magic glass. the arms had turned the golf club into a medieval Cudgel, while the heat of the odd flame was merged with that strange glass apparatus, funneled inward like water into a bowl. Daedalus stared towards Cozmo with a reassuring grin, before speaking to him with a smile that reeked of self-confidence and satisfaction; "Cozmo, my good friend... there is nothing to be worried about. My own self-groveling has far passed... as of now, at least. To ease the aches of my heart, I have built a machine that I believe could change the course of Godverse's history drastically... I call it the astral forge. With every breath I've taken, I have gathered the materials from countless tomes, further my knowledge with every word from the book of God, and have successfully built a device capable of assembling any sort of apparatus or machine if given the materials... I plan to incorporate more improvements in the future, but as you can see, I've already used it to build myself a tool of personal defense & symbol of royalty run by order. If an iron fist is what is required to keep the mortals & immortals at bay from self-destruction, then so be it. As of my youth I have watched innocents sacrifice each other to callow beings who've been born with powers beyond bleak comprehension... You see, Cozmo, I never thought I deserved the tools, and if I do, then what Is my purpose? This I believe could be the answer to my own prayers, my own questions I've pondered until now!" - the prince was pleased with himself... and Cozmo's fear was close to true; The True Godverse was peaceful, albeit corrupt in some areas, yet never needed such extreme measures... unless he was right.
  • And Daedalus proved to be correct.
  • The following months before 14 were something else. Cozmo would check on Daedalus, watch him gather materials from the tomes, which spewed torrents of pieces of what he needed. The tomes of the great library were created as a way for mortal magicians whom were born in the Godverse to master their sorcery, and it seemed as if Daedalus was using them to both power & use his machine, every time Cozmo walked in on Daedalus, a new device would be revealed to him; "The Divine & Corrupt marksmen... now, you may be wondering why I've forged firearms into a machine where I could make life-changing devices. It's simple in which the divine and demonic both hold an overbearing weight among other immortals, and so I have built these to personally punish them for any... 'incidents'. If I see some demonic or eldritch horror in this library, I will gladly blast them into nihil with the divine marksman... vice versa with Angels for the corrupted model, Cozmo." - "Thanks to my recent improvements upon the machine, I have built my very first sapient Automaton, which I'd dub the witch of cosmic laws... this is a very important device, very important indeed so listen up. The Cosmic law's witch has been developed to operate as a mortal being until some self-proclaimed God makes their mark on a cosmic structure. If millions, if not billions of innocents suffer, It will know, and it will handle them as intended. I have armed this mechanical sage with every type of tome we have in the library and furthermore created the first model of what I'd like to call the 'God ray', a personal bionic palm or hand-based implant that I will be continuing to advance until it has been perfected. The God ray itself works as a weapon capable of restoring natural law by targeting and tagging anomalies who defy scientific law or the rules of reality itself... Once they're tagged, they will be mutilated via particle separation and disconnection from anomalous traits or reconnection to natural law, rendering them as mere dust. See where I'm getting at?" - "Now you may be wondering what I'm doing with a psionic plasma chainsaw, good friend. It's simple; Nature Gods exist, they make trees & animals, and sometimes they get rather agitated at industrialization. To handle this, I have used the forge the create the first ever plant-capitator. If I find one mortal cosmology overrun by an agitated tree spirit, I will gladly share my wisdom with both sides of the coin and destroy the mess that is the over-growth... this could have other uses, if we consider mystical creatures & invasive species, this could certainly be the butcher's prize... of course, I'm not mass-producing this. I mean, some people tend to anger these Gods intentionally, though others may have made their mistakes. All I'm doing is setting up a tool to enforce my equilibrium."
  • With all the destructive machines Daedalus had built, Cozmo began to notice a pattern with each one, as each were engraved with red heat marks, creating a pound sign which was enclosed into a circle, from the handle of the Psionic Saw to the back of the Witch's body, they all bared his mark... Daedalus was a mad inventor, through and through, though behind that genius and craving for power was a confused, damaged boy, forever traumatized by some members of the folk, and looking up to his friend as a 2nd voice and his father as someone to look up to. Cozmo would sometimes find Daedalus outside of the library, watching his father's own activities. A year passed again, and during the spring before his birthday, Cozmo noticed how Daedalus always had a basket of grapes in his makeshift lab, plopping one into his mouth every 20 to 40 minutes to savor its flavor...
  • On his 14th Birthday, Daedalus & Cozmo would personally visit the king's castle, taking their trip to the citadel on a rented carriage. Duester could be heard making splat noises from outside the walls, trying to pass his sense of enjoyment as something funny, only for hardly any chuckles to chortle from anyone. On that day, The prince and his advisor personally met Koavire, whom planned a party to welcome his son to the pantheon. Cozmo got his breath of fresh castle air after a long while of library scent, it felt infinitely more pleasant here, but he knew it was only for a day... at least, until he'd get the news. As the ceremony of the son orchestrated itself, countless members of Quondam's church & even the likes of people whom were against Koavire's rule made their presence known. One in particular was a skeleton named Jack, known to the vast majority as "Virus404" and furthermore "a pioneer of the virus family", who had come to indulge in nothing more than a look at the king's baby boy and a nice slice of fine gateau... except, Jack didn't like dark chocolate. As the party continued on, Daedalus continued to observe his soon-to be-acquaintances, hearing in on their conversations & their comments, but mostly observing jack... another Cozmo lookalike was already hindering enough, but some of Jack's words appalled him, notably talk about some kind of savior... to him, it just sounded like some sick joke, but he had to keep his inner demons quiet... it would bring shame to his father if he didn't, and that'd just mean another talk with his friend.
  • When the party was over, both Koavire & Cozmo had sent Daedalus home, though in a twist in events, the king asked his son to let Cozmo stay for awhile... there were some things the two had to discuss.
